Week 5 With Dupa

Hello DUPAlings, welcome to Week 5! Thanks to everyone who came to our light painting workshop on Wednesday, it was LIT. This week we’ll be running our headshots event, heading down to Grand Canal Dock to take some night-time pics and selling tickets for our trip to Northern Ireland!

Headshots
We’ll be in the Atrium from 9:30-4:00 tomorrow, Monday 23rd, taking professional headshots. We are completely booked out but will be taking walk-ins. If you would like to get your headshots taken, we recommend arriving early and please have cash ready to go. Headshots with either a black or white background cost €10. You will recieve one colour print and one b&w print of your headshot. For €15, you will be able to get a headshot with a white background and a black background. In previous years, people have never had to wait very long to get their pictures taken. If you have already booked a slot, please arrive on time so the day can run smoothly!

Nighttime Photowalk

This Thursday, the amazing Darragh will be leading us down to Grand Canal Dock to for some long exposure landscape photography practice. We’ll be meeting outside the Science Gallery at 6pm. This will be weather dependent so keep an eye out here for updates! Because we’ll be shooting in low light conditions and using long exposures, it is highly recommended that participants bring tripods with them to the walk. Some tripods may be available to rent from DUPA prior to the walk – check here. (Photo credit to our super slick Equipment Officer Katie O’Neill)

Trip to Northern Irelandunnamed (1)
This year DUPA is heading north to Belfast! We will stay in Belfast city and travel out to some of the most beautiful coastal locations Northern Ireland has to offer. Join us for a photography walking tour through the historic areas of Belfast and other sites like Stormount, St. Georges Market, and the Titanic quarter. If we’re lucky, we might even be able to get a glimpse of the northern lights! Each ticket (€50) will cover 3 nights hostel accommodation and the price of the walking tour. We will also be offering expert photography tutoring to all our members throughout the weekend so you can get the most out of your cameras! Transport to Belfast is €20 return on the Aircoach and must be organised independently. You will be able to buy tickets all week from our committee: come to the DUPA room in the Atrium on Tuesday 1:30-2:30 or Thursday 10:30-11:30. Keep an eye out here for updates!
